The “colleQTIve” will provide specialty mental health outpatient resources and services.
SANTA CLARA COUNTY, Calif. – The County of Santa Clara Behavioral Health Services Department is hosting a grand opening celebration of their LGBTQ+ Wellness Center, “colleQTIve” on Friday, August 9, 2024. Located at 1870 Senter Road, San José, the colleQTIve Wellness Center houses several programs that offer holistic services and support for local LGBTQ+ people, including two-spirit, lesbian, gay, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, and all other identities.
The grand opening celebration allows LGBTQ+ community partners, family, friends, providers, and allies to learn about the programs, services, and space through guided tours and public speakers. The event is also a ceremonial opportunity to recognize the accomplishment by honoring all stakeholders and County leaders who have contributed to the program development and design of the physical space.
The colleQTIve Wellness Center’s multiple programs focus on supporting the holistic health of the LGBTQ+ community: The Q Corner (including the School Qnection team and the Harm ReduQion program) and the Gender Affirming Care Clinic (GACC).
The Q Corner is a peer-run program offering individual and group support, resource connection and navigation, community-building activities, and educational and training opportunities. The Q Corner services are provided in person, in the community, or virtually through email, phone, social media, and scheduled video appointments. Within The Q Corner, the School Qnection team supports the well-being of LGBTQ+ students, families, and school staff through service linkages and advocacy. The Harm ReduQion program offers trauma-centered substance use and overdose prevention and intervention, education, and trainings.
The Gender Affirming Care Clinic (GACC) is a Specialty Mental Health Outpatient clinic designed to provide behavioral health services to transgender and gender diverse (TGD) individuals ages 5 and older who have Medi-Cal insurance or are uninsured. The GACC offers individual, group, and relational therapy, psychiatry, peer support, and education. It opened its doors for in-person services in December 2023.
